On 0ct 4, 2013 I had my 90th birthday. I didn't expect to live so long, but since I'm still here I'll plan for next year. First, since Garth is resting his pastures next year I need more cattle to stock my hills, so hope to buy 10 more stock cows this winter. Next, Dennis and Helen have never been on a cruise so we hope to sign up for a 15 day trip to Scandinavia
Russia on June 22 to July 6, 2014. It's cheaper with a group of four.

We have been assigned as family history specialists in our ward so we are busy learning to use the computer at the family search library. So far we have added some pictures of our family to the records, made a few corections and found some interesting history information such as, Robert Wright Baxter had four wives and one of them, Jane McKinnon had been married to Archibald McPhail and they adopted a daughter who went with her to Randolph Utah. She also had a son named John M. Baxter from her marriage to Robert Wright Baxter but she couldn't get along with the other wives so moved to Randolph with her McKinnon brothers. Her husband Archibald died near the crossing of the Bear River after he had been rescued with the Willey hand cart group at South Pass.

I have used my family search records to locate some of my old friends but found that they have all died. We have attended several Veterans Day programs this week and discovered that the world war 2 veterans are becoming very scarce.

At age 93 I decided to take another trip over Ione's objections. We traveled to Managua, Nicaragua
to visit our daughter Helen and her husband Dennis who are on a 18 month mission. We used a wheelchair at the airport which worked wonders and arrived in good shape. For 4 days we toured the mission and found the climate to be just perfect. We returned home on 24 January 2017 to one foot of new snow and very cold weather. We went back to feeding the cow herd and even fed a bail to the 12 horses which are having a hard time digging in the deep snow. Paul does all the work while I drive the tractor.
